Frequently Asked Questions

What is STQC certification for CCTV cameras?

STQC (Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification) is India's government body under MeitY that certifies electronic products for quality, security, and reliability. Since April 2026, all CCTV cameras and VMS software sold in India must carry STQC certification — making it mandatory for both private and government installations.

Is ArcisAI STQC certified?

Yes. ArcisAI holds STQC certification for its Video Management System (VMS) and camera products. This makes ArcisAI one of the few Indian brands with a fully certified surveillance ecosystem.

Which CCTV brands are STQC certified in India?

STQC certification and BIS ER compliance became mandatory for CCTV sold in India from 1 April 2026. ArcisAI by Adiance Technologies is among the certified brands, alongside select others like Matrix and Videonetics for VMS. Many Chinese brands including Hikvision and Dahua faced delays in obtaining certification.

Why does STQC certification matter for government CCTV projects?

STQC certification is mandatory for all government surveillance deployments in India. It ensures the equipment meets security standards, protects against vulnerabilities, and complies with data sovereignty requirements. Non-certified equipment cannot be used in government tenders.
